Word of the week Photo Challenge: Music
Posted by joeabbott on May 5, 2013
This week I was really challenged as they chose “music” for the word of the week. Well, in my car I prefer to listen to audio books and I don’t really listen to an MP3 player or get to any concerts these days, and we don’t often have music playing in the house. So, I was left wondering what I should shoot.
I could take a picture of my old LPs, stuffed away under the crawlspace in my house; I could share a picture from an old concert we’d attended (but I promised myself I wouldn’t do use old pictures for this Challenge); or I could shoot what little music I do listen to: streaming radio.
A local school has a student-run radio station, KNHC – 89.5 FM, that I’ve donated money to for the past 7 years or so. I don’t have kids but think it’s great to give young adults an outlet that keeps them busy and teaches skills. I normally opt for tech-related efforts but this one caught my eye and it seems like a good organization … they’ve been on the air for well over 40 years!
So, I snapped a pic from my computer screen, enjoying both that I took a picture with my camera (rather than doing a screen capture) and even got a little screen flare effect.
Thanks to C89.5 FM for keeping me entertained and students at the local high school meaningfully engaged. Time to get back to the music!
