Posting these cat-cartoons-without-the-cartoon was a long journey that I don’t know if I’ll repeat soon again. A daily blog is tough … even when you have your material handed to you! But, I couldn’t have done it without the artwork … Continue reading →

Word of the week Photo Challenge: Black and White

Posted by joeabbott on March 17, 2013

LogsThis week’s word was “Black and White”, making it, rather, a “phrase of the week”. I wanted to take a picture of a classic police cruiser, the ol’ black&white, but couldn’t find one that didn’t have some gaudy words across the door (as opposed to the iconic shield/badge symbol). I was also thinking about taking a picture of our black and white hen as she was on the mend in the home, but that story ended before I could take my picture.

And then many many many people (nearly all, I think) in the share group were taking literally black and white pictures … and so my mind turned to images that looked good in black and white.

I chose the photo to the left as it had an industrial logging sorta feel; an industry that harkened back to a more labor intensive time. The water in the creek below it helped to give a sense of industry and time.

So, that’s my picture for the week. You’ll find it appear in this blog elsewhere (in color) as I chronicle a little stroll Suzy and I took just the other day.
