Posting these cat-cartoons-without-the-cartoon was a long journey that I don’t know if I’ll repeat soon again. A daily blog is tough … even when you have your material handed to you! But, I couldn’t have done it without the artwork … Continue reading →

Father Time is riding out his last few minutes of being the temporal keeper for 2011; he sits in an easy chair with a calendar showing “Dec 31” behind him and a grandfather clock pointing to the time of 11:53. … Continue reading →

Future of Flight

Posted by joeabbott on November 9, 2012

P1020035P1020032Today was spent enjoying the Boeing Tour with Fred and Doug, a friend of Fred’s from Kansas. Both Fred’s and Doug’s wives were were at a conference and Suzy went in to work, so we were on our own.

While much of the day was spent navigating Seattle traffic, we did spend a goodly amount on the Boeing factory floor or in the Future of Flight gallery. While pictures were not allowed in the Boeing factory, we got a shot of Fred in the cockpit of a decommissioned 747.

After the tour, we made our way to the International District and enjoyed some dim sum at the House of Hong. Tasty as always! It was Doug’s first time at dim sum and while I thought he might object (as a Kansas boy), he was game and tried everything!

After our meal, we walked through the Art Wolfe photo gallery in Sodo and then headed to the Olympic Sculpture Park to stroll among the various art installations.

It was a nice day and I enjoyed the time with Fred and Doug!
