Posting these cat-cartoons-without-the-cartoon was a long journey that I don’t know if I’ll repeat soon again. A daily blog is tough … even when you have your material handed to you! But, I couldn’t have done it without the artwork … Continue reading →

Father Time is riding out his last few minutes of being the temporal keeper for 2011; he sits in an easy chair with a calendar showing “Dec 31” behind him and a grandfather clock pointing to the time of 11:53. … Continue reading →

Pete and I a-hikin’ went

Posted by joeabbott on June 13, 2012

imageJust dropping a quick post on the hike Pete and I enjoyed this past Sunday: Rattlesnake Ridge.

P6100007 Stitch

I posted the “before” notes on it here but have a few pictures to share. It was a fairly predictable day:

  • Head out to Exit 27 off I-90
  • Go south to the end of the road … you’ll be at a Snoqualmie Point Park
  • Lock the car and start walking!

P6100006Our only agenda was to hike as far as we could until we needed to turn around and then head back. Our motivation for turning around was Pete’s 4:00PM hair cut appointment; he generously said we could hike until 3:00PM. So, off we went, getting to Stan’s Overlook and then another couple miles before we said “time to head back”. In all, we went just over 5 miles out and about 2300’ of elevation gain before hitting our turn-around time.

After that, we headed back; unhurried but making good time. I dropped him off at his car just before 3PM and he was off.

While my feet hurt quite a bit that night, all was mostly back to normal the next day and I had very little soreness. I need a bit of conditioning to get back into shape but it was a fine trip.

Next weekend we have lots of non-hiking plans so we’ll just head out for an early run up Tiger Mountain!
