Fooling around in public
Posted by joeabbott on June 22, 2011
I’m not sure why but, when I get around public art, I have to interact with it. I’ll pose next to statues, climb on the backs of bronze animals, and just plain get silly around the art. If a piece has a sign indicating that it shouldn’t be touched, I’ll respect that … but if you expect me to follow your rules, don’t hope that I just know them. Because the rules I follow say that public art is for public enjoyment.
And enjoy I do!
Here’s a sampling of silliness from a recent trip Suzanne and I took to the Cougar Mountain Zoo located in Issaquah, WA. It’s a great place to spend a couple hours!
