Posting these cat-cartoons-without-the-cartoon was a long journey that I don’t know if I’ll repeat soon again. A daily blog is tough … even when you have your material handed to you! But, I couldn’t have done it without the artwork … Continue reading →

Father Time is riding out his last few minutes of being the temporal keeper for 2011; he sits in an easy chair with a calendar showing “Dec 31” behind him and a grandfather clock pointing to the time of 11:53. … Continue reading →

Third in a series of five

Posted by joeabbott on June 11, 2011

I mentioned receiving series of five jigsaws from my nephew David here; and then I mentioned completing the second of the five in this post. Well, here’s the third in the series!

Just for giggles I’m trying a new plug-in that let’s me insert a picture so it looks like the old school Polaroid photos from days past. I can’t crop it, so I’m not terribly keen on plug-in … you can see the Amazon box in the hall, wonder at the crud piled on the coffee table, and generally see a lot of stuff that’s neither me nor the puzzle in question.

It’s not terrible, but I’d like more control.

What the plug-in does do that I like is that I’m able to tilt the picture either clockwise or counterclockwise, I can label the picture, and I can use whatever font I want in the pic. I’ve used Papyrus in a nod to my mother … I believe she likes that font.

So, the program has some things going for it but I’m still not hooked. I’ve just come to really enjoy cropping to compensate for my lack of photographic acumen.

Anyhow, thanks yet again, David! I’ve been told I can’t start the next puzzle until after the upcoming family gathering here. Seems this one took too long and my reputation for puttering around is casting doubt that I’ll get another one done in time!
