Tidiness is next to … well, I’m not sure what it’s next to

Yesterday I set about cleaning up my desk and today, I’m much happier for my situation. I’m not done but, in a before/after comparison (sorry, you’ll have to find the “before” from yesterday’s post yourself!), you’ll see things much improved.
And yet I’m still a ways from being done.
For the most part, what I did was get rid of a few knickknacks hanging around and make piles of what remained. In all that stack of paper that was on the left, I had a few “buckets” I could place them all in: old correspondences that I’ll keep (I found $20 in an old birthday card!), a stack of paperwork on the house (escrow statements, bill payments, year-end tax summaries), a pile of receipts that I’ll keep, financial paperwork (a dishearteningly small pile), and medical documents (an equally dishearteningly large pile).
I have places for all of these, so the piles to the left will be gone later this morning.
That leaves a bunch of CDs to rip, some hardware to either fix or toss out, and then my projects to get to. I won’t complete all of this today but I’m on the path!
Later this morning Suzanne and I will be heading out to enjoy a dim sum brunch, we’ll return some chairs to a family member who loaned them to us for the Easter gathering, and we’ll do some shopping for the week. Then back home for chores!
The weather will be perfect here in Seattle! Blue skies, sunny, and temps in the 60s! Suzy will tackle planting some bulbs and I’ll try to do for the garage what I did for my desk: whip a little order into it.
And that will conclude our weekend. But it will conclude it in a tidier place than it started!
