I’m going deaf!

OK … that’s a bit dramatic but the fan on the new power supply is so loud that I’m pretty sure I won’t last more than a very short while with this computer. I want silence … it sounds like I’m sitting in a closed garage with a car idling beside me. 😦

Hey Joseph, unless the fan noise bothers the cats, you can just slip on noise cancelling earphones that you may already have on hand stock from all your air travels. http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/headphones/noise_cancelling_headphones/quietcomfort_15/index.jsp
Also, I found that Sam’s and Costco could not compete with Fry’s and Amazon in price for the features offered. Tried Best Buy and the proprietary Dell/HP etc. sites but the lost leader specials by Fry’s and Amazon where a bit better when we upgraded 2 desktops and a laptop this summer. But do find out if MS employees will get a discount at their store when it opens up at Bellevue Square on 11.18. MS carries some real cool hardware.
Just some thoughts.

Thanks, Mike … good suggestions, but I don’t think I’d be happy wearing noise canceling headphones all the time. I have a pair and will use them for a short term fix. Wish I’d thought of that! 🙂
I’ve decided against getting a new machine … it’ll be something I do sooner or later but not right now. I’m looking at getting a new power supply and found the prices for a 500W unit on Amazon (another good suggestion!) to be under $50! Now I just have to find the right one … because I’ve determined that silence is a high priority for me!
Thanks, again!
