Posting these cat-cartoons-without-the-cartoon was a long journey that I don’t know if I’ll repeat soon again. A daily blog is tough … even when you have your material handed to you! But, I couldn’t have done it without the artwork … Continue reading →

Father Time is riding out his last few minutes of being the temporal keeper for 2011; he sits in an easy chair with a calendar showing “Dec 31” behind him and a grandfather clock pointing to the time of 11:53. … Continue reading →

Christmas in Seattle – 2009

Posted by joeabbott on December 23, 2009

I have no time to be doing this but every year I end up wanting to capture our decorating to share with my family back in Minnesota. And time never presents itself. Time to make time!

This posting will be brief but call out that I have a bunch of pictures back on my Flickr site that give more details. I hope to add evening shots when the lighting on things can really be seen. But, we’ll see if I carry though on that idea!

House decorations

The above pictures are as you come into the house. Suzy found a nice, vertical swag for the door and it accents the tall Father Christmas “statue” that she painted. Our tree takes pretty much the same design every year. We’re both good with that as we have lots of fond memories of our holidays together.

The next pictures are random decorations. I include the creche scene as Suzy incorporated some simple bamboo holiday trees that I made a year or two ago. It’s the first year for the deer on the plant shelf … although they look pretty good!

And finally we have our holiday cards (the excess card overflow onto the valance above the sliding door in back) and our stockings.

That’s our house! I have more pictures at my Flickr site, including some outdoor shots. If I have time (ha! “make” time), I’ll do a post here that features them. Enjoy!
