Posting these cat-cartoons-without-the-cartoon was a long journey that I don’t know if I’ll repeat soon again. A daily blog is tough … even when you have your material handed to you! But, I couldn’t have done it without the artwork … Continue reading →

Father Time is riding out his last few minutes of being the temporal keeper for 2011; he sits in an easy chair with a calendar showing “Dec 31” behind him and a grandfather clock pointing to the time of 11:53. … Continue reading →

saturnmileage

The other day I took my car in for its 100,000 mile tune-up and, while a few miles early, it finally rolled over today. I was hoping to catch it at exactly 100,000 but I overshot by 10 miles. Probably for the better as I was very likely northbound on I-405 and that’s likely not the best situation to be taking pictures of my odometer using my cell phone. 🙂

This picture was taken just as I was pulling out of the parking garage. And, yes, mom, I was at a complete stop when I took the picture.

Oh, the tune up … it was about the price I paid for my first car! And I get to hear this just a few days before I hear GM has stated they’re shutting down the Saturn line (I drive a 2002 Saturn Vue). And while it’s true someone could buy the line, it’s not a good sign. Anyhow, after they washed it and did a really thorough job of cleaning it up, it’s “like new”! It drives more smoothly, it handles nicely, and it’s clean. Quite comfortable. Now I just need a government bailout to pay for it!
