Posting these cat-cartoons-without-the-cartoon was a long journey that I don’t know if I’ll repeat soon again. A daily blog is tough … even when you have your material handed to you! But, I couldn’t have done it without the artwork … Continue reading →

Father Time is riding out his last few minutes of being the temporal keeper for 2011; he sits in an easy chair with a calendar showing “Dec 31” behind him and a grandfather clock pointing to the time of 11:53. … Continue reading →

It’s been a while …

Posted by joeabbott on September 11, 2008

OK … I’ve been busy and thinking about this blog as a place to put finished stuff. Given how much I have going on and where I have been (and intend to) spend my time, it’s probably better that I just crank stuff up here as it comes and go from there.

Over the past long weekend (including Friday and Monday), I went on a backpacking trip with my friends Tim and Ron. Normally we have a foursome (including Dan … I guess the rule is to join us you have to have a three letter name) but schedules just didn’t work out. Anyhow, we trekked through the Henry M. Jackson Wilderness area, spending time at Lake Janus and Pear Lake. Very nice outing … but we got wet during the first part of it.

Peak Lake was the best part and we spent two nights encamped there. We climbed Fortune Mountain, sat in the sun (when it finally came out) and read, and just enjoyed hiking through the forests and hills. We do this trip every year but we can’t take abuse like we did a decade ago … this was a good balance. Kudos for organizing this one, Ron!
